You will always want to consult your high school counselor, but it is generally recommended to work toward the diploma that is considered a “college-bound” diploma. You need to make sure that you always have a minimum of four years of college-prep math, four years of English, three years of science, three years of social studies, and two years of a foreign language. Each state will vary in terms of additional science, social studies and foreign language.
