When should I begin taking the SAT or ACT?
BlueSpark suggests making
sure that you have taken the PSAT as a practice SAT during your sophomore and
junior years. Some schools offer students the PLAN, or practice ACT, during the
sophomore year. Typically, it is recommended that students begin taking the SAT or
ACT during the spring of their junior year, to maximize the exposure to higher-level
math and science; however, BlueSpark recommends beginning to take the SAT or
ACT during the spring of your sophomore year. This gives additional opportunities
to earn the highest sub-score in each area for NCAA eligibility purposes.
